Definitely a bit slept on because he didn’t get into USAs last year where he very well may have finished top 5 (or 3). But yeah reigning NCAA champ who is already running under 3:52. Should be in the mix at USAs, though I can understand Nathan Green getting a little more hype based on his age, HS credentials, and what he did at World Juniors.
That's true. Waskom is still only a Sophomore though. If he stays in the NCAA then he will surely become a collegiate record holder or multiple time champion on this trajectory
More people are hyping up Wash as a team than Waskom himself. I mean I get it, but if this was someone from NAU or Oregon you'd see people hyping them up for the worlds team. I haven't seen that for Waskom yet
So he's roughly the same age as Hocker and could easily finish up his collegiate career this season with similar accolades. Don't think it's dumb to give someone extra eligibility when they literally had their first outdoor season scrapped.
He graduated high school in 2019. COVID rules are dumb.

I don't think it's dumb that he's running now. I do think it's dumb that he could be running in 2025 when he graduated in 2019. God forbid if he has another redshirt I'm unaware of to push that to 2026.

Has anyone hyped up Drew Bosley for the worlds team?

I see what you mean and actually tend to agree. I initially saw Waskom listed as a Soph and thought he graduated 2020 or 2021 but since I assume he's going pro after this season, don't think it'll be an issue down the line. I guess in a way it's good for guys like Nathan Green who get to train with and race against older guys.

No but we should start. His progression from this season has been incredible. He went from getting stomped on his first few cross country races finishing like 7th in some early season meets, to running a badass race and getting third at NCAAs, and now has run 7:36.
That’s a 13:03 5k equivalent, just an insane performance. If he keeps improving at this rate, he could definitely make the team

I just looked up his interview from citius and - this is my opinion as a woman - he's much more attractive than a runner like Jakob with his arrogance; Jakob's arrogance is just off-putting, I'm not sure if that's some kind of mind games he plays with his competitors, a.k.a., saying re: Nuguse, "His run was good. But I'm still the best." Mind games!
