I have the Cielo X 2 LD, and it's definitely not pebax foam. When I tried it for a workout it was one of the most underwhelming spikes I'd ever worn. I'd honest have preferred a pair of old Matumbo 3's

Can't be too promising if your top asset doesn't wear/support them -
HOKA is garbage
Are there any equivalent spikeless racers? As an old, relatively slow dude, I would rather avoid using spikes. Thanks.
So Mizuno and Asics have done it for years - I had multiple pairs of these once upon a time - of the best spikes I ever had (even though I just used it for workouts)
Those aren't spikes but tiny nubs - maybe 3mm long and you could easily grind them off if it was a problem. I know that a lot of the guys in the early 2000's used to grind down the fixed pin spikes in the Jasari
Asics has the metaspeed LD
Again though, these are tough to find in general across brands mostly because of the perception of traction (which does matter) from product with spike pins.
I'm thinkin' the Washington guys are liking the Adidas models.
Thanks for the reply. The Asics Metaspeed LD seem like a real possibility.
Nike is almost in every country. I live in Europe and I can't get any other super shoe other than Nike and Adidas ones.
In result 90% runners in my country use Nike.
Hoka, Asics can make as great shoes as they want, but it doesn't matter if they don't promote and sell them.
Yes, they're sponsored by Adidas now and have to use them. They used to be a Nike school, I have some UW victories from that era.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
