title basically, i went ~5:30 in the 1600 (5:27 pr) for every meet during indoor, ran around 21-22 in the 5k during xc but had a sub 20 road race just after states, without any prior experience with distance running (didn't take xc in middle school seriously and did 200/400/LJ/HJ during track, also not taking it seriously) or summer base. looking to break 5 outdoors but my coach is pretty light with workouts and i need some external advice on how to go about this. right now i'm running 30-35 mpw, with a 30 min tempo, track workout (usually something like 4x400 with active recovery), and a 10 mile long run each week. i've got one more meet on the 6th i'm doing unattached that i think i'll be doing the 1k and 1600 in. outdoor starts march 20th. i also suck at doubling in meets so any advice for getting better at doing that would also help. thanks!
