Converts to 4:18 mile. (Ran 4:26 outdoors as 8th grader, so he was fast and still good improvement) Fastest 9th grader so far?

Fastest of the year? Sure.
fastest of all time? That was Eli krahn in 2013. He ran a 4:09 1600 that year
Anyone remember Clemons running 2 XC races in 1 day? Sounds dangerous
Josiah Tostenson and Vince Recupero both ran faster last year
Is this really impressive when he should be a junior in high school? He was held back…twice. He is 17 years old.
4:26 in 8th grade? You mean 4:26 as a 16 year old.

Im not sure what his time was but Brandon Miller had multiple age group records for AAU before he was in high school. I want to say he ran under 4:00 in middle school.
It has already been stated there have been dozens of kids faster than the one they are trying to bring attention to.

Exactly my thoughts, how is a freshman 17 unless held back, which whatever as far as that goes but then really not a true freshman as far as developmental goes.
Actually looks like he’s home schooled so probably explains age and grade not matching up
When your home schooled you can be whatever grade you want. It’s a shame he didn’t hold back on middle school kids and my mom. Can you image a 16 year old beating a bunch of 13-14 year olds then driving home after? What a flex, this guy isn’t even top 25 nationally as a junior or better yet not even as a sophomore. Poor kid, daddy has to move him down two grades just to try and get him publicity he never got.
This article from Nov 4, 2022 says he was 15 when he won state last fall. So, I suppose he may be 16 now a few months later, but unless someone is lying, he can't possibly be 17 now.
So he may not even be old for his grade. But he isn't as fast as the OP thought.
The live results from his 1500 on xpress shows his age at 17
There are people who were 20 as sophomores and juniors
Most states don't permit athletes to be over 19. So if a sophomore was 20, they couldn't compete after freshman year.

I seen race results from last year saying he was 16 as a 8th grader, then results saying 15. Now results saying 17. Seems to jump around

That age next to his performance means that he will turn 17 this year. I think he is 16 right now.
