Jenny's record stood for that long because 4:25 in college is just absurd. Now comes Tuohy running sub 4:25 early in the season, she's crazy, she's absolutely crazy. In a good way of course.
It’s a collegiate record. So sorry but it is an oMG for her and the NCAA. Bigger and better things coming for this rising star. Sounds like you’re jealous

haters: tuohy is only fast on the hills, vably is faster on track
katelyn: *breaks the ncaa mile record first thing in her 2023

Both Cain and Tuohy had remarkable HS careers…Tuohy eclipsed several Cain records in the higher distances while Cain was a bit quicker in the 800 and 1,000 meters. Tuohy continued her progression into College and picked up a closing kick while Cain ended her career prematurely as a pro.
Cain is so much more talented than Tuohy and she fizzled out.
Cain ran faster at such a young age because everyone around her wanted her to run fast, her parents, her coaches, her managers and look at what happened
Katelyn ran fast, blowing away the competition at the HS level, breaking records left and right but everyone around her DID not want her to run faster than what was needed, they held her back as much as possible, they were very careful with her because they know what happens when you dont hold back young talents like Cain and Katelyn.
This might be mean to say but Cain was the example of what could go wrong. Katelyn is the example of what could go right.
Her coaches in HS and now in college, both say, that with Katelyn the trick is ‘holding her back’…there is no need to encourage her to maximize her potential…she naturally has those instincts. We need to celebrate her accomplishments rather than belittle them with drivel like we see here on LRC that claims “well, that is to be expected”. Breaking an NCAA record, this early in the season, in a distance she hardly ever races, is far, far away from ‘what is to be expected’. We’re witnessing a very rare talent here. What’s wrong with you people?
I doubt it. I don't think her fans want her to go pro because then they will have to admit that is just another 20+ year old American runner who can run 15 minutes for 5000 barely earning a living.
Will people still be saying that Tuohy should go pro when Parker Valby torches her in the 5000 this year? 🤣
It's also going to be funny when the NAIA mile record is faster than the NCAA record after this weekend 😂🤣
While I agree few if any want her to go pro, that number would decline should what you suggest happen....of course it may not happen either.....But you keep predicting Valby will beat Tuohy - you might be right some day!
First, why would either of those events her decision or ability to go pro? Tuohy fans seem pretty confident that Tuohy will run 4:00/14:45 in the near future. It wouldn't matter if Wiley runs 3:58 and Valby runs 14:40.
Second, I challenge you to prove your false claim that the poster predicted more than once that Valby woukd beat Tuohy. At most, he predicted that she woukd do it at NCAA XC but I couldn't even find that.
