....and all of that is under a cloud of suspicion because Jerry salted the earth defending a doper and continues to support her to this day despite the clear evidence of guilt. His reputation is ruined.
Kincaid says BTC coach Jerry Schumacher advised him not to leave the team but Kincaid told him, "Hey, I can do this and I think it's what I have to do."
Crazy the hate for Jerry... the guy's just pumped out winners over the years that everyone on this site used to love... Solinsky, Jager, Teg, Flannagan... etc...
If you're upset about his support of Shelby, maybe he felt fleeced too... he only spoke about it like once... it's possible he couldn't believe it as well when it was all said and done. He's generally reclusive to the media so it doesn't surprise me he hasn't brought it up again, especially considering how it all ended.
Anyway, it feels like it's cool to hate on Nike and Jerry was the preferred coach of the mob when Alberto was around... now it's just shifted.
Pretty stoked for Kincaid and I love the transparency, but I don't think it should be a knock on Jerry, he was an Olympian, sub 13 guy with BTC... to each their own. Congrats Woody!

The fact that Shelby is still around BTC shows he either still supports her, she has some dirt on him or he was ordered by Nike to keep her around for some reason (not sure why this last one would be the case though). No need for him to make an additional statement to the media when his actions tell everything.
- Jerry is the rock star of our age. He is kicking ass and taking names. At least in the US. When you say "Burrito", or "dick", I think you are overlooking the actual situation. He knows how to train, AND how to convince athletes to produce their best. This is such an overlooked part.
- "kicking ass" means his athletes are doing things that are amazing. I won't reiterate here, but he has coached the tippy-top
- If you think Jerry would use drugs, he is AFRAID of drugs. For him, they are nuclear poison. That is why he is so ignorant. He really had no knowledge.
Woody is awesome and what he did and has done in so many exciting races is pretty incredible. He’s got talent and guts, obviously lots of hard work, and some pretty amazing results. The interview with JG was amazing, and credit both JG and especially Woody for that.
One thing that isn’t credited very much in this thread (is all about Jerry, leaving the group, etc) is another major factor in Woody hitting this 1251… Joe Klecker. Gault’s question about Woody and kicking was of course, brilliant, carefully asking an unanswerable question, why do you wait to kick. Woody’s answer was I think pretty great, and essentially amounted to, “how am I supposed to get myself to within 26 seconds of 1251 any better than I did?”
And guess what, the amazing Joe Klecker played a pretty damn big role in that regard.
I know you all know this, but I just want to underline it. It came up tangentially in other posts as well. Like, “get in more races,” or “you need the teammates.”
Either way, looks like Woody found some magic in what he is doing now. Wishing him more of the same. It’s awesome.

Piggy backing off of this -
1.) Him "speaking about it once" was a full-on nuclear attack on doping authorities, the testing process, and the legitimacy of the results, going so far as to obfuscate the facts to drum up sympathy and make their case seem more legit than it was. He then refuses to talk to anyone about it, despite it being proven that findings were legit and that his excuse was complete BS. His cowardly "reclusiveness" is not acceptable in this situation, given the gravity of the case and his actions during the infamous "press conference."
2.) BLM politely saying "Shelby is still around BTC" is the NICE WAY of putting it. Jerry and his staff CHOSE to continue training her during her ban WITHOUT consulting his athletes, potentially putting their careers, funding, and training/living situations in jeopardy. When confronted by them about, basically told them TS.
3.) Jerry was the "preferred coach" because Salazar, who is T&F's scum of the earth, described him as his "mortal enemy." Since everyone hates Salazer, we all rallied around him partly for this reason. In retrospect, this was probably undeserved.
4.) "Jerry pumped out winners." Was he doing so because he was doping them? Considering his open and continued support for a convicted a doper, this forces us to revisit Jager's "likely doping" designation from the Fancy Bear's WADA leaks and Teg/Solinsky's association with Dr. Jeffrey Brown. Were they actually doping as well? We know now this group isn't clean and gave the latter two examples a pass at the time, but with Shelby's case, maybe people need to reconsider whether his group has always been dirty.
