Looks like he tempo'd that. He seemed pretty unphased after the race, not even breathing hard.
Who's he training with now? I gotta imagine it's not easy losing what I assume was his bestie as a training partner.
Guys who ran this meet that are his teammates- Jack Yearian who finished last in the 3k, Reed Brown who ran 3:48 for 1500m, and Matt Wisner who was a DNF. Not a good look for the team.
New Gen has been MIA on the videos not posting in over a month. Seems like something is going on.

Yikes. If he could get in with Warhurst's group at some point, that would probably be ideal for him. Puts him a lot closer to home, too.
Nothing is going on, high school track is just on hold for the next few weeks and that is why NGTF is neither posting stuff. My impression is that as long as those guys were in college and COVID was happening, they were obviously following and documenting the journey much more. Now, it seems like they pivoted towards inspiring the next generation of hs/college runners through their stuff.
But to come back to Hocker, I don´t understand why he is only training with people that are obviously much slower than him. I reckon that having a strong training group at Oregon helped him a lot. Now that this is missing, he hasn´t been able to reproduce the same success as in 2021. Maybe it´s the lack of structure in his daily routine, something that school and college sports or a pro team offer you and he may need more. But at the same time, he is still only 21 and has a lot of time ahead of him. Think about other athletes that we had written off and came back again.

Hasn’t been able to reproduce the same success as in 2021? He got 5th at pre mile last year before getting injured and this race was his season opener. Let’s give Cole MF SHOCKER some time, he’ll be back

I came to this thread just to see if you had posted. You never disappoint.
Your schadenfreude and your obsession with belittling Hocker are unhealthy.
Ha en god helg.
Haha, I find that quite amusing! I am glad I didn't disappoint you. I just don't understand how some runners are chosen to be hailed as gods, where every bad result is a rust bust, and every meet they don't attend is beneath them to run at. Is Hocker even the top 5 most interesting male US runner now?
While you have a good point, I doubt the lilac grand prix will do anything for his WA ranking (especially in an event he likely won't be running in any meaningful meets this year).
