Biased opinion as i was part of the team who made the spikes.
After many years both racing to a decent level and also having worked inside the product engines at all the competitors, i can confidently say the team behind making this spike has delivered a mega product.
I always say the athletes are the cake and we're just the icing. Nothing comes close to the work they put in. Just look at the video Mac Fleet filmed on Sunday.
The recipe isn't just the product design.
It's the full enchilada of scientific insights plus athlete collaboration to the process.
The competitive, open source mentality of specific expertise from many external partners. Developing a pro-active culture to look from different perspectives and ensure we're squeezing the lemon to end up with the best possible solutions to of a product to get the athlete from start to finishline as fast and efficiently as possible.
We developed that first spike with Ollie, Joe, Alicia, George, Sage and Dathan. Their input was invaluable not just for this quick development but also for whats to come in 2023 and 2024.
I wish we had a film crew in St Moritz on 10th June. The final workout before Oslo DL 6 days later.
I drove up to deliver the newest proto of the spikes that morning and then they dropped a crazy workout, arguably more impressive than last Sunday in Boulder.
On the cool down the guys were pretty vocal how much of a miss that we don't have an athlete social channel or anyone following them to film what would be a high schoolers dream to see the inside of that workout.
We've now fixed part of that with Citius video this past week. We'll do more of that.
Following the St Motitz workout they went on to run 13.04, 3:47 and 14.31.
Exciting to see what this weekend brings.
