That I agree with, and it's why I respect Fisher for combining an electrical engineering degree w/ running at Stanford. Very hard to run well on 5 hours of nightly sleep and balance training with labs. That's exactly the definition of academic - sports balance.
What's crazy is if student 1 majors in basket weaving at state u w/high gpa strong gmat then gets a finance degree at Wharton, and student 2 majors in electrical engineering at Stanford w/good gpa strong gmat and also gets a Wharton finance MBA, they both get the same generous starting package on wall street, or in consulting.
