The forward lean is the mark of the best soccer stars and downhill ski racers. It distinguishes Tuohy as having the best form among her competitors and reduces fatigue by dropping her shoulders to keep her center of gravity in an ideal position. I was thought this overseas by a couple of Olympian mid distance runners…
Notice how you are the only Tuohy fan to make a prediction? The others won't do it. It is odd. That is the type of thing that this site was created for. Let's actually talk about running. Let's recap races from yesterday and let's predict results for today.
The reported 4:23.97 was erroneously reported by the track…she fished 3rd behind Monson and Morgan (2 established pro’s) in 4:24.26…a couple of tenths behind Morgan, who was a couple of tenths behind Monson. Nice finishing kick for all 3. Tuohy did a 31 second lap to overtake Morgan at around 1400M. I’m thinking this might be her natural distance, even ahead of the 5K…though she showed enough speed to easily go sub 8:50 in 3K and sub 15 @ 5K…we’ll see. The reminder of the indoor season should be telling…she clearly can keep up with the pro’s and should be able to join their ranks in the couple of years, if not sooner.
and thats on humidity training lol
imagine how faster katelyn would be w altitude training, and a coach that knows how to handle powerful middle+distance runners, all through out the year, katelyn trains as a distance runner for longer distances, she ran 4:24 using fresh legs and raw speed talent, craazy
I agree that she would definitely be faster with a better coach.
college level, katelyn is already with the best coach
pro level, ritz, and coach smith
what i meant about the coach is a pro level coach and not in college
Pro level Schumacher and Ritz, looking like. I like Smith but haven't seen a lot of success with females except Elly Henes. They are based at 7000ft though so that's a plus
Luccia Stafford is w BTC now and just set the North American record in the 1k btw, while everyone else was talking about Hurta Klecker...

Maybe? Smith historically hasnt had blue chip recruits on the womens side. Yet they just placed what 6th at nationals with several women- Stearns, Reiss having huge huge jumps. Look at the other scorers. Bries, Kebbe, Morley... Their HS times were ok but now scoring on a top 6 team. They are clearly improving quite a bit under his coaching. Kebbe was 4 seconds behind Brooke Rauber who was one of the very top recruits of her class. Stearns placed 4th!! I think he's developing his womens team really well.
I believe Henes and Schumacher are great coaches as well, they just have more immediate proven talent to work with for the most part (on the womens side obviously). It would be interesting to compare HS pR's with college progressions for the top teams.
Wow, there were no milers, S-haufen on the Haufen Mist, no Norris? Expected great pacing from the Monsoon (note not the 4:18 conversion from practice.)
Strong work from Orton-Morgan and KT, addidas teammates, and of course college record for Tuohy! McCabe w/ pr also.
Haufen Mist. That's really insulting. At least showed up on the starting line. More than Norris was able to manage.

And there you have it. A comment saying Norris is a head case gets deleted and the one saying S-Haufen is a piec of s (garbage) which is what haufen must means remain for public view. Another example of Norris and not others being protected on these threads. And a wonder why she’s not popular here

A little harsh, it's just a play on the name. Schlachtenhaufen means battle pile or slaughter pile, which is a bit graphic already. Haufen Mist means pile of manure and is used in common speech, perhaps by a boss complaining about a messy office.
I thought the milers Norris, S-haufen and Vissa would put up a defense of their turf against a 10k runner and a college kid. They didn't, and you don't often get a chance to make a German pun.
