I had shin splints / stress reaction and the pain has gone away completely. I changed 3 things but all at once: compression, toe taps, nike invincible run.
If it's the compression how does that even work?

Your body likely healed itself with time.
Agreed
Compression increases blood flow to the area. Do you know how your body heals?
I should have been more specific.....
After each run a lump on my shin would become inflamed. It's a stress reaction. However after doing 1 or all 3 of these things it's no longer inflamed. I have had shin discomfort for over 6 months yet this change has happened over the course of a few days.
