This, I don’t think Flatt has shown anything that puts him in the same conversation as brazier yet. A 1:42 PB and a 1:46 are worlds apart.
Theres a bigger gap between Brazier and Flatts PBs than me and Flatt, and I’m an also ran at any non local meet.
1:46 and 1:42 are like 10.1 and 9.7. Both are phenomenal marks but one is a potential world beater and one should be happy to be on the world stage. One also doesn’t assume a 10.1 HS guy will go on to run 9.7, it’s possible but you wouldn’t bet on it.
Not trying to bash on Cade, I hope he kicks some a$ this season, but you should expect a high 1:44 or a 1:45 this season, and that’d be amazing for a freshman.
I’m getting the same energy as the threads that were saying Brazier would be the man to break 1:40, I think people just need to understand at a high level like this, improvement stops being so linear.
