Had no idea Juliette could run a 400 that fast . . . have thought of her as mid-d runner who's best event would eventually be the mile . . .
Stanford is at the BU Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White meet next weekend . . . hoping to see Willis take a crack at the mile . . . possibly Whittaker another shot at a 2-flat 800 . . .
With this meet in the books, quite apparent that Whittaker is the team's best miler unless Willis does rip a fast one next week . . .
Ellie Deligianni is the team's 3rd best 800 gal at 2:03 outdoors and now a 4:39 mile . . .
With Maya Valman having just run a SR 53.01/400, Stanford is in the rare position of being a distance-oriented program which also happens to have a top-notch 400m runner.
Thus, best DMR lineup at this point would appear to be Deligianni/1200, Valmon/400, then W&W . . .
Would like to believe this lineup could break OR's 10:48.77 CR . . . however, given Albuquerque's altitude, a time like that would have come at one of Stanford's other meets prior to NCAAs . . .
Dang, I can't believe NC State actually has a chance to win the DMR title 💀 Tyynismaa, Bush, Chmiel and then Tuohy running down how much lead it is up front.

Which of those four do you have running the 400? 🤷♂️

for various reasons there is zero chance those 4 will run a dmr together for NC St this season.
Many teams just got their qualifying time so unless there is a need at conference championship to win against a top opponenent I doubt they run fast again until Nationals (which are at altitude).
BTW Duke quietly ran 10:56.68 and is currently # 2 Highly touted FR Frias lead off and Maatog anchored with Lauren Tolbert (2:04.99 pr on the 800). 3:25.6/52.79/2:05.34/4:32.93
BTW Duke is just the right type of team to possibly win it all. Good for first 3 legs with runners who might not qualify for individual events. And the anchor who has qualified for 3000 on night 2.
You are correct except that the qualifying time will likely be faster than last year. 10:59 was 16th. Only 3 teams have gone sub 10:57. I wouldn't feel safe at anything over about 4th in the rankings presently. At ND last year, a half dozen men's teams ran a time that would have previously won the NCAA meet and it was too late for other teams to run again.

Well which teams that might run fast have not done so yet? Maybe NC St? UW? Georgetown? I can't think of others but maybe there is 1-2. I'd say top 10 at this point are pretty safe.

Willis can gut out a solid mile if she has to (she did help break the HS 4Xmile record along with three of her future Stanford teammates) but shes unlikely to ever be running in the low 4:30s like Whittaker is right now. her training focus has been the 400 and the half. Plus she hates it. shes made that clear in interviews. bet she could run a mean 1K though.

Dahlia Frias having a very solid true Freshman year. She had a great last month of hs track, was acc freshman of the year in xc and now solid 1200 on dmr.
