Solid early season performance for him. I think he can go sub 8:35 for the 3200m this season.
Prakel 7:50 in the same race. Lumb from UW with the W in a 7:43 meet record.

The 3200 is a non event. Oregon runs the 3000, and hopefully he will not waste time with the 3200.

I walk a local trail with a coworker at lunch where we often see the UW Men's team training. I finally have a name to put to a face, but this Lumb guy goes blowing by us in the opposite direction one day a couple of weeks ago and she turns to watch him blaze off before turning to me and saying, "that guy is a horse!". Makes me laugh even more now. Good on him!
8:09 with conversion to a non-oversized track.
You're a joke 🤣

What’s the conversion down to a 400m track?
I saw Gorze win State (Oregon HS XS in the Fall) and watching him run in real life is really impressive. He just looks so much faster than other runners.
But because he isn't in agony the whole time while running, he doesn't show the strain on his face the way some of the other boys did. He looked as cool as a cucumber.
yeah…..and he runs 80-90 miles a week.

So he works hard and is fast as a result. Your point?
Nothing wrong with it in my opinion. But, not sure how much he will improve in college. I have heard his training is very hard as well.

His body can handle that without breaking down? That is a super important talent to have. My body broke down as soon as I would try to go over 60 miles.

Aussie 16 year old Cam Myers ran 8;05 in November he turns 17 in June. He might run 7:55 in March.

“Waaaaah! I hate America! Waaaaah!”
No one who is anyone has respect for 3200 meters as anything other than an e route split. I agree, it is a non-event.

Actually , while an Indoor event run everywhere, globally. The 3K is the NON event in U.S. HS's...less than 12 out of 50 States even run the 3K ....ever. 2 Miles is the mark that folks care about.. yet 3200M is run everywhere almost ,due to all tracks being either 200 or 400M. I never liked the move from yards anyway, but 3K, while relevant to Oregon and small % of other states..is the outlier distance in HS. Just is.
If a HS kid runs a 3k in outdoor track, does anyone even know?

You’ve never followed indoor and outdoor track.
The UW track is very, very fast.
last year:
Ky Robinson : 13:21 at UW, 13:23 outdoor best
Brian Fay 13:24 at UW, 13:16 outdoor best
Cole Sprout 13:24 at UW, 13:27 outdoor best
Alex MAIER 13:25 at UW, 13:26 outdoor best
Amon Kemboi 13:26 at UW, 13:30 outdoor best
You can basically predict that collegiate athletes will not run any faster outdoors than what they run at UW. The same can be said for HS 3000m times.
if Gorze runs 7:59 at UW, I think he will be a 7:59 outdoors. If runs 8:05 at UW again and no faster, then I think he will be an 8:05 guy outdoors.
