Tuohy and Valby can't hold a candle to Mary Cain!

The vast majority of top teen girl middle distance and distance prospects, the top 800 and 1500m runners, the nxn and footlocker champs, have failed, especially those whose performances declined in high school. She is a true outlier. So, it was not at all unreasonable to assume she would never be as good again. The great ones in the past have emerged at that level only later, with the exception of Mary Decker.

Yet anytime that a positive thing is posted about another great high school runner, the Tuohy fans cut her down as well as insulting the posters. Nobody ever cut Tuohy down, they merely made reasoned predictions. That is the difference. Tuohy fans piled on claiming that Valby is dumb and that she is doping. That is uncalled for. They call Cook a liar.

IT’S VALBYMANIA!!!!💪🤘
same old line
Weini Kelati, Emily Sisson, Molly Seidel, Roisin Willis, Juliette Whitaker, Athing Mu, Keeley Hodgkinson and many others beg to differ.
This is typical Tuohy disinformation as she did not decline in HS. Her peak stretch of running was October thru January of her Jr yr. (Holmdel, nxn course record, 9:01 3k) During her Sr year she battled injuries during all 3 seasons, but still defended her nxn title, ran a 2:08 (pr) relay split, ran a 4:36 (her 2nd best) dmr mile split, a 4:17 1500 and defended all her NY state titles. The only thing she did not do her Sr year was enter any individual events at national track meets or set any national records. She still won every race and when necessary could run at 99% of her pr level, despite numerous breaks for injury.
The nagging injury that she ran thru Sr yr ultimately led to surgery and a long break from running pre NC St. She came back already freshman spring, but was not fully fit again until NCAA indoor of her sophomore year with the 2nds in the 3k or 5k.
The proper description of Tuohy's high school career is "After a record breaking Sophomore year, Touhy continued to improve as a Jr setting numerous xc course records, defending her nxn title and running 9:01 for 3k, #3 on all time HS list. As a senior, despite battling injury all year forcing her to run a reduced racing schedule, she was able to win nxn for the 3rd time and defend all of her NY state titles in indoor and outdoor track."
Somehow this gets interpreted by the critics as 'peaked as a middle schooler, declined in high school.' Funny we never hear about the years that Prefontaine, Lindgren, Rono and Cheserek declined, it was only important that they 'won multiple championships'.
They differ with the math? That is like going to a crappy college as opposed to a top tier college and having somebody point out the average starting pay and you point out some people from the crappy school who had high starting pay. If you didn't have the outliers, all teen phenoms woukd have burned out instead of the majority.

Only Valby fans thinks Tuohy will burn out, they hope and pray she would. Tuohy ain't going anywhere but up!! Her competitive drive is unlike anyone else!
Don't even start with the Valby is undertrained. Valby trains more than Tuohy.
Every discussion about Collegiate distance running is indeed always about her, who else would talk about a 106th place runner?
Valby simps does the same thing.

The 106th place runner was Taryn O'Neill of Northern Arizona. She is a fifth year senior from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. She placed 42nd the year before and was the Big Sky Conference champion. She is majoring in Environmental Sustainability with a minor in Geology.
That little segment is way more interesting than anything I have heard from the Toulby sycophants this entire year. Thanks for sending me out to research that.
Funny that you stumbled on O'Neill, as that was another quiet story from the meet. In previous years she was NAU#1, but this year took a sabbatical from running and was not in optimal fitness for the NCAA meet. Had she been fit and run close to pr level, NAU would have been on the podium.
Track fans are insufferable. Running is a fun thing to do to keep in shape. It isn't really a pro sport, if it were there would be leagues with salaries and not a bunch of fast people begging for shoe contracts while shilling crap on the side.
At least Tuohy has sensible fans, Valby only has her old simps
