I am a high school runner currently in the middle of my second year of running. During the cross country season I was running ~25 miles per week on average. With that training I was able to achieve a 18:15 5k on a track after the season ended and I did some self-directed training.
This track off-season I am moving up to 40 miles per week and focusing more on interval and repeat training in my later stages of my training block, mainly focused on the 1600 and 3200. How much do you think increasing to 40 miles per week would affect my 5k performance?
