I wanted to know what everyone's stance was on working the abs and how critical it is in training.
My coach does not currently implement it in our program and argues that the 10 minutes spent doing abs would be better spent running. For reference, we are a high-mileage program.
Despite this, I still think I should do 10 minutes or so every other day to capitalize on another one of those 'little things' that could make me better.
Does anyone have any specific go-to routines or have any opinions on the importance of working the abdominals? Any input on frequency?
