Hi guys,
Im quite young runner (25 yo), who do some high mileage training (80-100 mpw for 6 months) and run good times in Halfmarathons (around 1:10). After that i have problem with chronic pain on right hip if i run more mileage with slow pace. It was 2 years ago. So i need to change training and last year i run very low mileage (around 30 mpw) + Cross training. Funny is that, if I run faster pace my hip dont pain, so i just dont shuffle and run all the time around 6:00 pace. Sample plan for last year was something like that:
Monday: 5 miles 6:00 pace
Thursday: 8-12x400 68 per lap, Rest 2 min.
Wednesday: 40-45 min bike (low resistance, fast cadence)
Thursday: 5 miles 6:00 pace
Friday: 40-45min bike (low resistance, fast cadence)
Saturday: 8 miles 6:00 pace
Sun: Rest
This year I want run fast 3k and 5k. First race indoor was 2000m and run 5:48. What could I change in traning for running better times It's possible with that mileage? I work full time 40h week, but not physical work
