Nice 14:32 for Bati and Gabe follows up his 1500 with a 14:59
That’s nice double for Gabe. Thought Bati might run faster, but he’s clearly the class of the MIAC right now.
The Augsburg freshman woman run sub 19 too. With all the success Augsburg has had of late Olaf should look to their coach to replace Power. He really seems to know what he’s doing.
He is already a couple seconds ahead of the top MIAC time from last year. I think the 5k and 10k are definitely his to lose. Still needs to do a little work to compete nationally though.
Lloyd will be quite the challenge in the 10K, so let's not give it away yet.
And it should be mentioned that Bocovich ran 14:26 in December. If, and that's a big if, he can get close to that level of fitness he should push Bati for a few laps.
Rumor on the streets of Northfield has Ian Curtis forgoing his final track eligibility to try his hand at javelin. He was quoted as saying, “I like to ride my bike a lot and sometimes when I ride my bike I like to pretend to joust with the windmills in town. I think javelin will be a neat challenge to solve, just like a really satisfying math problem.”
I read that in Ian's voice. Well done.
Did you see the whole thread about another dumb Power workout? Running single man DMR’s? Ryan Bowles! When will you get a distance coach that has a clue? This team should be one thousand times better.
And kudos to Ricks for letting his guys have the chance to run in California with good comp and good weather for two consecutive weekends. Wish Power had a flipping clue.
Rumors are swirling that due to the recent indoor success of Macalester College, Saint Olaf is moving to kick ANOTHER school out of the MIAC to battle their own feelings of insecurity. In response, The Scots are planning to pull a Saint Thomas and do a DIII-DI transition. They will replace Brown in the Ivy League, who will be joining the PAC 12.
When asked about a potential move, Scots coach Dan Schofer said: “एतेन महाविद्यालये सद्विषयाणि आनयिष्यन्ति”.
What does this mean for Ian Curtis’s javelin prospects? Will Joe Giamberdino protest the move? How many conference championships will Habetamu Abide win as a result? What school will be next on Saint Olaf’s hit list (my money is on Scholastica)?
Wash U Distance Carnival 5K:
Logan Bocovich: 14:14.49 St. Olaf #1 all time
Will Kelly: 14:18.74 St. Olaf #4 all time
Ole SZN approaching
Nice times for both. It should be noted that Phil recruited both athletes and they seem to be the only two having success. Need I say more?
April 6. Does anyone have their outdoor track shoveled off yet?
Nice showing by St. John’s in the 1500. Would have liked to have seen Bati in the fast heat, he seemed to bounce around before winning the second heat. He’s definitely showing some improvement in his speed over shorter races. Lloyd Young close to his time from last year and it’s still early. Carter Grove continues his huge leap from 2021. All 3 would make last years top 10 with those times and there’s almost 6 weeks left to the season.
Yes indeed, and a stellar 800 by Nick & Will kicking down scores of Oles. Now that it is outdoor Papa Tim will have the Johnnies ready to dominate.
The UAA thread rankings have far surpassed our thread. Step up your game MIC’ers
Those Oles were doubling back in the 800...wouldn't get too hyped about kicking them down.
9:09/1:57 double for Kelly? Hot damn, not sure if that is advisable, but it is impressive.
Advisable? He did a workout after all this. They even shut the lights off and he kept going. Will Kelly is the stuff of legends. I heard he doesn’t take days off and won’t eat anything with condiments. Just wait until he does the gauntlet of the 1500, 4 x 800, steeple, and 5000 at conference. He may even throw in a 4 x 400 leg and try his hand at Javelin.
Will Kelly is no Lloyd. And he should be happy Lloyd can't be bothered to steeple. Lloyd would simply run through the barriers and still run sub 9.

lol @ the oles reporting the post with a link to the news story about their teammate getting suspended/arrested for having a gun in his room to get it taken down
be proud of the team culture you have built
