World Athletics profile says her birthday is on January. She's now in the same age as Valby and Tuohy, difference is both are third year juniors while Cook is a freshman.
I've seen people say WA can put athlete's bdays as Jan 1 as a default or something. Her bday may be later this year. If it's in August or later, she's the normal age for a freshman.
For some athletes that show up on WA they only know the birth year and default it to 1/1/xxxx so each January their "age" will just immediately go up automatically.
Sage's 8:42 3200m is still intrinsically inferior than Virgin's 8:42 2-mile (3209+ meters) at the 1973 IL HS meet.
No, I’m actually normal in that respect. PeachPit messed up his interpretation. It’s when the birthday is before August that a first year collegiate enters when they are 18 years old.

My birthday is in October, and I entered my first year of college as a 17yr-old.
My birthday is in September and I entered my first year or college as a 16 year old. Know what you and I have in common? We’re both one of the youngest people in our class. Know what we don’t have in common? I’m not-as much of-a d!ckhead

No you are not normal. I also entered college at 17 and I was always the youngest kid in my grade. Almost everyone enters college at 18
You are obtuse, in failing to see you actually agree with me. I too, was one of the younger in my class, but not an outlier. With normal scholastic progression in the US (Kindergarten then 12 grades), a 16yr-old entering college would have entered Kindergarten as a 3yr-old, which is an outlier. Entering Kindergarten as a 4yr-old (which I did), is not an outlier.

Her Birthday is in May I believe. She is currently 19 and turning 20. She is a year older than most true freshman, same age as a red shirt freshman more or less. Typical true freshman would be 18 possibly turning 19 during the year.

Do you know what cross referencing is? Or just another lemming that sees ONE thing and runs with it?

Buy Cook is faster than Tuohy as U20 which males it great that the OP brought her age up for all to see.
Tuohy’s ‘advantage’ was that she took the sport very seriously since the 7th grade, making her great performances exceptional. But we are coming to find out, based on later results from the likes of Cook, Riggs, Englehart, and even Valby, that applying the term ‘generational talent’ to Tuohy was a misnomer.
