Agreed, don’t use the Super Bowl as an excuse to drink! Instead splurge on some high quality food for the game. We’re doing homemade bbq and banana pudding.
You’ll be extremely glad come tomorrow morning that you held off, and you’ll start the week off strong.
This thread really came at an interesting time. I used to be huge into craft beer and over the past few years have reduced my drinking to 2-3x a month (used to be 2-3x a week). Unfortunately each session is 6+ strong-ish craft beers, generally enough to get a strong buzz, sleep like sh*t, and wake up with a headache the next morning.
With running, kids, work, and getting older... I feel it's such a pointless waste of time and calories to be drinking that much even if it's just a few Saturday's a month. Going to try a 30-day sober streak starting now.
I used to do that except I'd chase it with half a bottle of whiskey. It was never enough. Best to not start.
The day I found out I was getting divorced I did a half of bottle of Rebecca Creek and had acid reflux for two years. I thought I would never drink again.
5 months. I've lost some weight and dropped my 5k time by a couple of minutes.
I haven't had a drink since 2010. It's interesting because it really helps with weight control and I have a great physique. But my 5k time has never gotten any better, because I don't have a shred of running talent. Never bothered me because I've always been a terrible runner, but I've never been fat.
