I have loved the past few versions of the pegasus especially the 38 but they really ruined the shoe with the 39. Hoping they course correct with the 40. Please tell me im not alone in this.

I think you are alone. I’ve gotten 440 miles on my first pair and have a second pair lined up. What don’t you like about it?
I'm just the opposite. I thought the 37 & 38 (especially) were turds, but have enjoyed the 39s. Only reason I even gave the 39s a try is because I found a pair for $69. That being said there are too many shoes I enjoy running in now over the Pegasus, so unless there are some major changes I'm probably done with them.
For me the Pegasus peaked at 35/36. I tried the 37 for about a month and hated every single run with that shoe. I then bought 3 more pairs of 36s and when I couldn’t find anymore, switched to the Asics Novablast 2… when reminds me I need to stock up since the 3 has been out for a few months already. Maybe will try the Peg 39…
so buy all the 38s so we can have plenty of 39s
to each their own , i love em
Totally agree. I loved the 35. The 36 might be my favorite shoe of all time. I don’t like the 39s that much. They’re a bit heavier, more cushion and feel clunkier than the 35/36. How do you like the Novablast? How does it compare to the 36? I’ve been searching for a similar shoe to the 36 in weight and stack height but a vast majority of shoes these days are higher stack, heavier and clunkier.
I'm waiting for my Pegasus 39s to show up in the mail. I have had every version since the 35 and am running in 38s now. I like the 38s but the Pegasus does seem to have gotten clunkier with each version (but still a great trainer).
I have heard the 39s were lighter/faster though?
You're not alone. I can speak for myself and also for a large number of friends who love the 39.

It's funny because I hated the 36. I actually called Nike and they told me that they had a lot of complaints about the 36 and assured me that the 37 would be "back" to a real Pegasus type shoe.
I loved the 37, 38, and now the 39.
Certainly, no one is right or wrong, it's personal taste.
I thought the 37/38 felt clunkier or something too
39s are better but not as good as the 35/36

Join the dark side: buy a Brooks Ghost.
I'm surprised with how many people enjoyed the 35, 36, and 37s.
I hated them. The 38s are the best shoes I've had in a while. I've heard the 39s are solid too, but not as much support as the 38s.

100% this!
People who still love Peg past 35/36 are just gluttons for punishment who refuse to acknowledge there are other shoe companies out there besides Nike!
(and I aint hating on Nike, just their everyday trainer range is terrible compared to Saucony or Asics etc)
AS someone said above. Clunky is the word! Like zero pop!
I had a pair on my feet two days ago but compared to the Infinity Run and other foamy, puffy, PEBAX shoes, these felt kind of "dead" to me.
React foam is an EVA and I am addicted to PEBAX. But I think it is because I am old and need (bouncy) cushioning in my shoes.
I will also admit to liking shoes with plates (Saucony Endorphin) and rockers (Hoka). I am old though, so I have no idea what the Pegs would feel like on young feet.
Pegasus 39 has some feeling of pegasus34. If your trying it on in store and with anything less than 10miles on it will feel clunky and stiff.
By contrast a Hoka Mach or Asics Novablast may feel flexible and dynamic straight away. Hoka has lost me on their upper and outsole disintegration. For me right at 40 miles the react with zoom seems to start and mold to the foot shape and the fit seems to have improved for wider feet, with reasonable weight and a versatile outsole its a workhorse. You could do a tempo, trails, and plyos all in the same shoe.
**For anyone in search of something a little softer and more flexible you may wish to try winflo 9. Don't sleep on this because it's a Kohl's shoe! It's basically a Cushlon foam aka older gen Pegasus.
For me, the best Peg was the 36 and I'm around 190lbs. I ran long runs of 18 miles and more and even 1 full marathon. I bought the 37 as soon as it came out but it felt like a chore to run in. It was clunky and had far too much going on. I dropped the Peg until they release something similar to the 36.

You'd be surprised then by the Winflo 9. I think it's on sale in various colorways on Nikes site

This.
Felt the exact same way when I first put it on. Felt a little weird at first but as I ran more and more in them, I enjoyed them.
Those that loved the 35/36, what shoe do you run in now? I’m looking for something similar to the 36 but haven’t had any luck yet.
