I bought it and I hated it. It was big, sluggish and was uncomfortable to run into, almost unrunnable. Then I went to a more traditional shoe. Lighter, lower to the ground, less cushioning. I ran many months fast as the wind some days but got really sore verging on injury. I went back to the beast on a wet day and WOW! My legs felt so fresh the next day. My runs were slower, about 5% slower, but at least I could run the distance! It has a wide base. High quality construction. Built like tank. Good traction. And I love that it has a plate that has such a unique feel upon foot strike! This manufacturer I believe was the first to put plates into shoes decades ago. The beast I fell in love with is the Mizuno Wave Paradox 5. Only sold outside the US but can be mail ordered. Tonight I will hold it in my hands, try to give it a good bend and twist and it won't. I will marvel at and thank goodness I did not rush into destruction when I was younger. A lesson for the young man.
