He has explicitly called out Granville's record, and who are we to question at this point?
I suggest you review the Big Bear Media video, in which Brosnan says he has video of Granville saying Aaron will get the record.
How could Granville or anyone else, possibly know how fast Aaron can run 800m? Is it based on a study of other national XC champions with good top end speed?

Obviously, based on the time of the video. Granville would have had to say that before he was a XC champion.
Are we still stuck on the “A-Aron is an 800m runner” troll? This is getting as boring as the burrito joke.
It’s not us. Lil S has said the 800 is his favorite event and he considers himself an 800 runner. On the road to the state meet this past spring he just ran the 800.
Until he or his coach move him to a different event this coming track season he is an 800 meter runner.
Yes. No other high schooler has quite shown this 800-XC range. Alan Webb was faster (so far) at 800, but never won national XC thanks to Dathan. On the girl's side, Mary Cain won her state XC but never did nationals.
No other high schooler has shown that range? His brother has a faster HS 800 as well as a better HS XC career.

I don’t know why he wouldn’t focus on 1600/mile and 3200/2-mile. At those distances, he holds all the cards, he’s as strong as anyone and has the fastest top-end speed. In the 800m the 400/800m guys are going to have significantly better sprint speed and the race will have to play out just right for him to win.

He could say he's a turtle it doesn't make him one. The dude didn't even win state last year and is likely not to win this year. He simply doesn't have the speed. He's a good 800 time trialer I guess.
Steve Ovett won the English Schools 400m in record time in 1970; the AAA (essentially British Champion) Youth's Championship at 400m in 1972 and was second in the English Schools X-Country the same year. He also won the National Junior X-Country in 1975, and in 1978 won the Inter-Counties Senior X-Country at 7 1/2 miles (it was the trial race for the World X-Country Championships).
Sydney Wooderson held the world record for both 800m and 880 yards set in 1938, and won the European 5000m Championship in 1946, and the British National X-Country at 10 miles in 1948.
It is interesting that the 1:48.4 WR that Wooderson ran is almost bang on the IAAF tables equivalent for 4:00 for the mile, but he only ran 4:04/3:48. It would be interesting to know the splits, conditions and so forth, as he clearly had the endurance to run close to sub-4
Wooderson’s 800m was in 1938. The mile was in 1945. In between he had limited training and racing opportunity due to WWII. There was also food rationing in England for much of that time. On top of that, in 1944 he developed rheumatic fever and was hospitalized for 4 months and told he would never race again. Once discharged it took him six months before he could run a 4:25 mile. In that light 4:04.2 was an incredible effort. On top of that Andersson who narrowly beaten him accidentally impeded Wooderson when they were locked together 50 yards out. Splits were 2:00.1 and 3:02.8
