Hey everyone,
Do you have a plantar plate tear injury that still haunts you today? I’m looking for some advice as I look for a carbon/nylon plated shoe.
In a nutshell my feet are unnaturally flattened, wide because of the flatness (narrow shoes or shoes with seaming are intolerable), wicked side calluses, and often just more sensitive to everything. It’s a bummer, but I’ve lived with it for 10+ years at this point, and blame it on being young, dumb and overtraining at the time. I tore both, and had an avulsion fracture that makes it look like I have Spock toes.
I used the Hoka Carbons in several races, they weren’t bad because my toes could splay out pretty well. I tested out some Saucony Pros by running a workout recently - and they felt fast and fun, but my feet were in pain and numb by about the 4th mile. So sad.
I might have to go back to the Hokas, but I know their performance might be not quite as stellar.
Any of y’all with similar plights tried the Altra shoes with carbon? Looks like Vanish model?
Or do you recommend any others that have worked?
Appreciate it.
