For those of you who have worked with high schoolers for a number of years, do you find they have gotten louder? I feel like their default volume has become something between a barbaric yawp and an ennuch’s passion shriek.

no, parents have just gotten worse.
single mothers especially (with no father figure around) don't instill the value of respect in their numerous children. not surprisingly, this correlates a lot with violent crime
Nah. Adults just have better hearing. Fewer blue collar jobs where people damage their ears. Most people in my suburban neighborhood wear ear protection while mowing the lawn these days vs much less common when I was growing up.
i remember i was in a room where a middle aged mom was laughing and joking and no kidding that was the loudest thing ive ever heard
I am unsure if kids are louder. I am certain, however, that they are incapable of holding a rational conversation on a single topic for longer than 15 seconds. Their minds, like their phones, change gears every 15 seconds. It can’t be healthy.
You’re just older.
I don't know. I feel like things are quieter now in neighborhoods. Less random playing. More organized sports and a lot of time on phones.
