Can they qualify?
Can they qualify?
Based off this year's times, no way. But they obviously have time to improve in 9 months.
At best they're a top 10 merge state team with 16-16:30 minute 5k times (sub 16 3 miles) for most of their team. Close spread and depth but only having 1-2 15 minute low sticks is not enough to make NXN unless everyone performs well.
Granada barely edged through at 4th with high 15's and low 16's.
Speaking of “4th place in the merge” teams, it’s not even a given that 2 CA boys teams will go to NXN next year
2 CA at-large* teams
There clapped next year, but i think there younger class is really good
Can Dev Doshi make NXN individually though?
Lots of good individuals in CA next year, but if Fasthorse-led Ventura and Noonan-lead Dana Hills both make it, it will allow more individuals to slide in.
It would be cool to see Oakdale make it. They probably could have made it this year but one Olivera got tragically hit by a bus in the summer. At least it allowed Granada to go.
But they will have a good chance to make it next year if they can find 3 guys that can keep up with the other Olivera (Mason kept up with him last year), and if their #1 Alsaidi keeps improving.
Yep they have 3 very good freshmen, and some good 8th graders that may or may not go to NP next year. So 2025 may be the next year they return there.
But next year San Clemente is the only CA boys team that has a shot to return to NXN. And it’s not even guaranteed to return
I bet that they don't care right now and are focused on the upcoming track season.
Amazing, thanks for contributing to the thread. We never would have known that bit of information if you didn't post it.
