Sorry you are so mad. I was there and it's true. You can see Leo throwing up on the live feed behind them on the center stage and Lex was in the medical tent.
It's Ok to hate yourself and get mad at HS boys. Yeah thats healthy.
you don’t buy that a 13:43 track guy who ended up running 15:36 on a not slow cross country course could’ve possibly been in need of going to the med tent?

I think the guy you are reply to is arguing that the med tent is viable given the poor showing from Leo. I don't know why you are going after him so agressively.

probably just responded to the wrong comment lol but i was so confused when i first read that
Leo was on the stage late because he was off to the side throwing up. And Lex was in the medical tent.
again more drama created by people who know nothing
Nobody buys this. They've painted themselves into a corner, stick with the "sick" story and come off as German Fernandez head cases, or come clean and admit to being salty and petty.
"nobody buys this"
It literally was said at the award ceremony. The announcer was talking to only 5 of the newbury park kids because he said the other 2 were in medical tent. It's literally on the NXN replay. Then one of the Young's came to the podium and Sahlman put his arm around him.
IT IS LITERALLY ON THE NXN REPLAY LOL. Stop making up lies about minors

I'm saying I doubt either of them needed to be in med tent to begin with. Just this season I've seen kids show up for the awards and throw up during the ceremonies and stay standing all for all of it, looking way worse than them after the race.
What's shocking is that this team won nationals with a record overall and individual best time, a record score, and by a record amount, even though its two top guys were ill and hence scored about 40 points more than it would have. With Aaron and a healthy Lex and Leo scoring 6 points, which they would have done, that team would have set a record that might not be broken. Yet, they still destroyed the field with two of the top three guys in the country falling far short of their ability.

It’s the team record they set at RunningLane that might not be broken

They're about the same shape as Nico was, they tried to pull same tactic Nico did, only the NXN had easily ten+ OTHER boys who would've reeled Nico in and spat him out, just like his younger brothers. Any other take is the old German Fernandex could've, would've, should've if only wasn't injured/sick, because no way God's gift(s) to running could lose.

Sounds like you’re the one arguing the hypotheticals. You really think Nico would’ve been reeled in during his senior year of HS? Hate to break it to you, but he wasn’t. He won. Saying this year’s group of boys (which admittedly might be better than the kids from three years ago) would’ve reeled him in is a really bizarre assertion. Think about Nico’s development over the past three years. How many of these kids are going to run 13:11 as a sophomore or get second at XC nats as a twenty-year-old junior? You really don’t think Nico (or L&L) could possibly win from the front against this 2022 field? In your mind, not one of them could use a front-running strategy to win even if they were having a fantastic day? Then how do you explain Nico’s strategy at NCAAs a few weeks ago? Sure, he’s a better runner now than three years ago, but his competitors in Stillwater were waaaay better than any field of NXN kids. At NCAA XC, the only person Nico lost to was one of the guys who also committed to the front-running strategy from the beginning.
The point is that you can’t reasonably say that Nico would have lost NXN this year simply because of his likely race strategy. There’s a lot more that goes into it than just the race plan. And, in case it needs to be pointed out, Nico is a different person. His strengths and weaknesses aren’t necessarily the exact same as those of his brothers.
L&L’s race plan didn’t work this time. But if you ran this race 9 more times and only altered L&L’s health/fatigue I bet their strategy would work at least once or twice (by work, I mean both twins finishing anywhere in the top 3). A slightly less aggressive early pace, of course, would probably yield better chances of success.

It’s not bizarre to assume Nico wouldn’t have won. His brothers have been markedly better than him at every level of HS.
Much better as freshman.
Much better as sophomores.
Much better as juniors.
Nico’s development post-HS does not speak to his HS fitness or the fitness of his competitors.
Matt Teg was like an 8:53 3200m runner in HS, went on to run 12:58 and get 4th at worlds. THAT version of Teg wouldn’t have finished top 10 in this race.
Now, if you put Teg in this era, as a HS senior in 2022, he maybe wins it.
There absolutely was. Aaron even reposted the Wesfly story on his instagram, not sure why people are acting like this wasn't a thing. Clearly they have moved past it, and hope to see them break more records in the Winter/Spring
stop. talking. about. westfly.
that guy is a pathetic loser with nothing to contribute to this sport. failed runner who is being controversial for the sake of being controversial
Why would people down-vote this guy? He is right. Can we please just learn to talk/write normally. When you say weird things like "death con 3" or "squash a rumor" you should be embarrassed, not defensive. Just admit you are wrong and never make that mistake again.
