We have already seen a slightly past his prime Centro. Do you really wanna see a more than slightly past his prime Centro? He is the greatest 1500m runner in US history. I wish he would retire rather than finish 6th or 7th in the Trials.
It makes me a little sad the secret about Utah is out. For so long outsiders avoided it because of the strong Mormon stigma. The best trails are getting crowded.
How do you think the native Americans felt when Joseph smith and his cult came and murdered their people and as well as those pioneers down in st George? You’ll survive
Gotta hand it to Centro.. this is just a wise move. 1. At his age, he knows what works for him, I doubt a coach would have that much added value. 2. In his NOP and Bowerman years he's had to answer questions because of what Salazar and Houlihan did. 3. He's going to a place where there's no luck of runners that can help with long runs and tough workouts.
How is there not a single mention in David Monti's article of the Bowerman Track Club? Is Centro still sponsored by Nike? Why did he leave BTC? Why is track and field journalism so bad? This is nothing but PR.
Were you taught history by Nikole Hannah-Jones? You must attend the church of CRT.
Mormon settlers were chased out of their homes in Missouri. There was literally a law allowing anyone to kill Mormons on sight in Missouri. They had nowhere to go. Many settlers were extremely poor immigrants from the British Isles who left starving from the Irish Potato blight. These mormon settlers that settled Utah were incredibly poor.
I also find it fascinating that you don't mention the violent Ute tribe that wreaked havoc murdering surrounding tribes. Nor did you mention the Spanish that had been in the areas hundreds of years prior who had enslaved and murdered the native population. They also died in droves from disease brought by the Spanish.
Also, you're apparently not aware of thousands of years of various native American cultures, nearly constantly in a state of flux, being exterminated by the next wave of continually developing societies of other native Americans.
But yes, it was all Brigham Young's fault. He's the real villain here. It's that simple.

A little? How about a lot. They all brought their mountain bikes, too. Line of cars up Big Cottonwood Canyon last Saturday was literally to I- 215.
Some trails where I live were getting crowded and overused. Jammed up between bikers, hikers, runners, and families with little kids.
The solution was for volunteers to work with the authorities. One main trail was turned into 4 approximately parallel trail routes. Some mapping, some planning, some labor... Boom, fixed.
One route option was made with curves, jumps, etc that bikers prefer. One route easy and gentle -- you can bet families with grandma or lil tykes use that one. Two routes average difficulty.
The truth is Matthew is finished as an Olympian or World Chamionship competitor. The man has had a stellar career but he cannot make the team at either event anymore. He will be almost 35 when the 2024 Olympics are held and it will be over for him.
I legitimately think he should move down to the 800 only because of how horribly bad the US mens 800 scene is. He could actually make the team.
