I am a senior in high school who is trying to run fast this track season to earn a spot on the team of one of the D1 colleges I am applying to. (Washington St, several UC schools, a couple Cal State, Schools)
I plan on focusing on the 800/1500 this season because I think I have the most potential in those events, and want to work on building speed during my base aerobic phase. I have never done weights, plyometrics, or flying sprints before, but I think they will be really helpful to build speed for mid-D events. I know how to do all the lifts, but I have no idea how to structure a lifting routine, or what plyos to do, or how many and how long of sprints to do. That is what I am hoping to get advice on if anyone can offer it.
Idk if it is relevant, but my PRs from last spring are 52.1 (relay split), 1:57.2, 4:11 (1500), 4:29 (Full mile), 9:16 (3000)
Also I ran 15:46 5k XC this fall.
Thanks in advance for the advice
