Did you even pay attention to the results at the meet? The women's 3000 and the men's 5000 events rewrote every school's record book including NC State's. It was only Tuohy sho disappointed.

Poor take based on one race after a long XC season. On a related note, why not take a break and skip indoors? Surely the body needs a bit of rest?
Gidey is tiny.
Valby had one bad performance 2 weeks ago but every Tuohy fan seized the opportunity to claim that Tuohy is better than her. Funny how you pick and choose the criteria.
Simple. Because she was already fast then, if you put Tuohy in the same improvement rate as a high schooler who ran 17:00 5000m then Tuohy would be a sub 14 runner at 20. Is this even scientifically possible? No.
No Adidas track distance athletes come immediately to mind. Wasn’t there a separate discussion a while back as to whether Nico would rather be in Nike shoes (although that point may not be relevant, and shoe fit is an important factor in performance.)
If I’m not mistaken, the Nike distance spikes do not use a carbon fiber reinforced plate. Their performance has been attributed mainly to their PeBax foam, and probably their integrated shape to some degree.

I doubt that was a bad performance. She looked smooth and strong, until the last hill when Tuohy passed her.
Obviously Cook will be the American record holder in a few years because she ran a faster 5000 in high school than Schweizer or Tuohy.

Irene Riggs would be the correct name then.
NAU men wear Adidas and NC State women wear Adidas. Seems to be the best shoe.
Why? Riggs hasn't run as fast

How was it bad? She did not collapse, in fact her 2nd 3K was slightly faster than her 1st 3K. She is not a kicker, so it's not like she suddenly did not have her kick. If you look at the runners who finished 2-9 at SEC and compare their times for SEC and Nationals they averaged 58 seconds slower at nationals including some AL ladies who finished much higher at nationals than many would have thought and were only 30-40 seconds slower than at SEC. Valby was 65 seconds slower. It seems like Valby performed ok other than she got beat.

Contrary to a “bad performance”, I thought Valby delivered in a big way at Natty’s, all things considered. I think that was the general consensus in the media, too.
She just did.
When you see what she does in track, it will be considered a bad performance.

Ok. We all get it. You are an anti tuohy troll, contributing nothing to the conversation.
Tuohy set her school indoor record in this race. If you are going to troll, atleast get your facts straight. #trollbetter
Yawn. These type of threads come up every year. The moment she has an alleged disappointing race. Then they get forgotten when they fall by the wayside. How about we see what she runs when she is better rested from a long season.
As to the pro progressions, we are all familiar with the 23-25 year old, post-college pro progressions.
Which facts? A poster claims that Tuohy ran poorly and so did other NCAA runners performed poorly due to XC. I point out that most ran PRs and set school records. Yoy are arguing with somebody else.
Like the 5000m outdoor was also a bad performance? Etc.

Well, ‘horses for courses’. Olemomoi was 18sec behind Tuohy at Natty’s, but only 2sec behind her at the recent indoor. So even if Valby is superior on the flat, that doesn’t take away from her performance at Natty’s.
