99% of men on earth would look like a hobby jogger next to Letesenbet. To be fair.
Who's the leading men pacer on the right?
For those interested in the Americans, Ian Butler was 51st at 10k (30:56, which is 2:10:31 pace). CJ Albertson 62nd in 31:38 (2:13:28 pace). He's gotta watch out for Gidey...
I am watching a great stream on the Olympic channel, but I wanted to track some hobby joggers on the app.
Well... if he gets beat by her... better men than him have been beaten by her at other distances (e.g. half marathon & 15k) head-to-head.

47:26 at 15k.
Wouldn't be surprised if he dropped out. No 15k split and he slowed down a lot from 5k to 10k.
She might get taken out by one of the wheelchair racers.
Oops that was Kosgei's split.
48:03 for leading women at 15k. Surprised that Gidey still has company -- Amane Beriso is right with her. Their last 5k was 16:00; they're on 2:15:09 pace overall.
make that 99,999%
I would think she’d want to start dropping the pace slightly now if she’s gunning for the WR. 67:34/66:29 would seem an unnecessarily challenging way to run 2:14:03, but if any woman can do it it’s Gidey. Also must be acknowledged how greedy of me/us to think “WR or bust” in her debut marathon.
I like how sensibly she's gone about this.
technically, you're far more accurate than me. i should have said 99% of **runners**.
Agree 100%. And if she runs 2:15 or 2:16, that's still a great debut.
That's a big pack for being 2:03:16 pace
1:03:50 for Gidey at 20k so speeding up to 15:47 for that 5k

15:47 = 2:13:11 pace so very significant. It’s on like Michelle Kwan!
