Yeah, her coach said they were going to go out on a slower pace (for her) and try to pick it up as the race goes on.

That 5k split is ~2:14:20 pace. 32:03 ~2:15:15. Very smart so far. I expect some fast splits between 20-35k for sure.

Yeah but they can't be bothered to show the women 90% of the time. Its either the elite men, or the plebes, or the elite men & the plebes, or the elite men & the elite women (which is 95% elite men pacing the women & you can't see the women)... IDK about everybody else but I'm only watching it to see if Letesenbet sets a WR as we already saw Kipchoge do the same for the men this year & if she falls off I'm done for the night/morning.

The guy in the pink shorts behind Gidey looks like a hobby jogger but still running 2:15 pace.

Gidey looked so smooth at that pace.
