To be completely honest I forgot this race existed.... I was too busy following the real HS team nationals in Oregon and the west qualifier for the individual HS nationals.
In the future if any top team chooses RunningLane over NXR for a chance at NXN I'm going to assume they are not as good as they are chalked up to be.
Anyone notice that the fifth team from the California merge (Oakdale) came in second? And Riverton from Utah who placed 5th at NXR won? These are fast teams that missed out on a chance at NXN so ran at RunningLane (which is a completely valid thing to do).
Do you guys see RunningLane as a race sticking around or will it cease to exist in a couple years? This year it was effectively a race of the next fastest teams, instead of a race of the fastest.

I hope it keeps going. There will always be a demand for JV NXN.

It will also give American Fork an opportunity to finally win nxn next year. They got 5th at nxr and only lose 1 senior who is the same as their 6th
I think their number 1 fell and dnf'ed. Definitely a reality check for them but the course was a mudpit today.
Course was the same for everyone today. Fact is, Jesuit LA got beat by some fairly mediocre teams today and according to their fan boys on here, they were so deep, didn’t matter what happened to anyone in their 1-7, they could beat anyone in the country except maybe NP. Now we see why they really went to RunningLane and not NXN. That would have been brutal for them.

So how would they have done against Grapevine and Southlake Carroll?
They lost to alot of Soutwest region teams. They lost to TCA who was 11th at NXRSW. If they could have beat both Grapvine or southlake Caroll, NXR south shouldn't exist. Realisitcally, none of these teams are top 30 nationally.

They went 20th and 19th today.
Is the #2 Oakdale from California? At Woodbridge Southlake got 3rd and Oakdale 22nd.
