No, by my count 10 boys apart from Sahlman ran equal to or faster than Brayden Seymour’s 1:28.9 split.
2 of those were Jackson Heidesch (5th) and Simeon Birnbaum (6th) who closed in 1:26.8/1:26.7 respectively. Heidesch snuck past Birnbaum at the finish of the Heartland regional to win by 0.2. At NXN both clocked exactly 14:55.5. Heidesch ran a 4:06 mile with a 58” last lap in June. He may have a legitimate shot to break 4 in the Spring (Iowa homer here).
What was the tiebreaker procedure for nxn this year? Whether they go man to man like ncaas or go out to the 6th Corning loses it to Downers North. Is there some other new rule we need to know about?
If you watch the award ceremony where the present NP with the trophy you can see Leo hunched over (possibly throwing up) right behind the stage with an adult holding him up until he got a chair. A few minutes later the man led him onto the stage. He was not looking too good standing up there. You can see his teammates patting his back (aaron let the others hold the trophy and side hugged Leo)And then when they are walking away the man is helping him walk/holding him up. not saying that the sick rumor is true but this is not normal for him after a race.
They are shaping the narrative that something was wrong. Trying to make up excuses to protect their image. Connor Burns had a bad race but went straight to congratulate Aaron. The Young’s did no such thing because they are incredibly arrogant. I have completely lost all respect for them. Go Aaron.
With all the drama (real or imagined) surrounding the implosion of the Young brothers, nobody's talking about how great and close the girls team race was. Four teams at 120 points and under is outstanding; has never happened before in either division. Major congrats to Saratoga, Niwot, Buchanan, and Lone Peak for running strong when it counts.
5 of Crater's top seven are returning, as well as six of American Fork's. They're probably going to be really good next year. Belen has five returning too,and although only three of Herriman's are returning, Soles is so good that I get the feeling they'll be really good next year too. Any other teams people feel are likely to be top-tier next year?
Wayzata. They return all but their number 5. Also Stevens Point. They return every single one of their scorers. CBA and Carroll had people sick but they keep most of their guys and have JV guys that can step up
Union Catholic returns 5 varsity guys, and adds Jimmy W. They always seem to bring transfers in
McCallie didn’t get an at-large but almost beat Belen Jesuit. They also return 5 guys and are very deep
Coeur D’Alene ID should be the second team out of NXR NW next year if their fifth man closes the gap on their 4th. They lose no one. They are looking to have only 2 seniors on varsity next year too. They also have some new good freshmen coming. I think they will be in a better position than Rocky Mountain was in this year. People forget that Rocky lost FOUR seniors from last year’s varsity team. For that, although they added a transfer and had a soph step up, they did very, very well this season

Oh no I wonder however they will deal with losing the respect of some dweeb on the internet. Meanwhile, Aarons national title is now his second biggest accomplishment, behind gaining your respect.
