Once the spring comes along, even if you run 4:10, most the big schools will be out of money and spots anyways...so they aren't going to go pulling any strings even for you.
Also, I don't know if a coach could help get you in AFTER you already were rejected anyways. I would say to look for a different school. If you really want to run D1, look to more mid-major types that will look at the potential more than your actual times.
Make sure you mention how you've just started and ran 4:25. Many coaches will put more value into that than a guy who ran 4:25 year one than a guy who ran 4:25 after training since they were 10.
