I don't know who's clean and who isn't but if we want to get into this, Jenkins ran for a team run by someone serving a doping ban and Ryan Hill ran with a teammate serving a doping ban. Lagat's b sample has been pretty well hashed out and people believe what they believe with that, but I'm not sure that "sometimes trains in Kenya (where he has family and plans to return to after his career) and peaks well" means Chelimo deserves more scrutiny than Jenkins or Hill. If nothing else, there should be similar levels of scrutiny given to American born runners and African born runners.
“Ostarine is an investigational drug and therefore not approved for any use by the US FDA. Despite this, it is still sometimes found in dietary supplements, particularly those marketed for bodybuilding.”
If this substance is more for lifting / bodybuilding, then this bust & banning of a guy at the end of his distance running career is pretty pointless.. just stupid, actually. It makes the entire process look bad, imo.
I actually feel like I remember him signing out of the testing stuff and posting it on his story, so this is morbidly funny if he got popped when he was "done"
Rojo I expect that you guys will go to bat for Hassan to defend him as you did for Shelby Houlihan. Surely Hassan is innocent and he never knowingly took any PEDs. Will you be looking into this and attempting to prove his innocence here?
If you “sometimes train in Kenya” then you have easier access to epo during that time. Previously that also meant you would not be tested out of competition while there. So yeah, if your training camps happen where the most doping in the world happens it is something that should raise an eyebrow.
Imagine thinking more positive tests means anything lol. NOP had ZERO positive tests, so I guess they were cleaner than both OTC and BTC and shouldn't have been criticized so harshly?
The reality is that no one cares about OTC. Two of their guys got banned when they were already on their way out of the sport anyway? Wow. Meanwhile, BTC has one of its top athletes busted, fabricates an insulting cover story that doesn't stand up to even the slightest bit of scrutiny, and then bands together in support of their doper while she jumps from interview to interview taking softball questions and crying about how unfair her life is.

What are you talking about? If it's a banned substance than it's a banned substance.
And it's not like he hasn't competed in years, he was still training and racing in 2022. Maybe not as fast as he wanted, but he should absolutely be drug tested until he officially retires.

Sure. You're correct.
But, it's like drug testing someone who's wayyy back in the results and doesn't care anymore. It's like getting a speeding ticket for doing 73 in a 70 in the middle of the night. Whatever. It seems like the testing could be a little more targeted to have greater effect. This is essentially wasting time and resources. But, technically, you're right. It is a banned substance.

Except the issue is that Hassan couldn't have eaten the pork burrito because of his religion.

+1
Caught doping in October, provisionally banned on November 2nd, "retired" on November 8th. Good riddance.
I've always that "officially retiring" to be pretty dumb. It's simply an admission that you're getting old or disinterested and no longer training with the same rigor because you no longer have the juice.
