Does Tinman training normally have a sharpening block near the Goal Races?
I know a lot of work is done at CV and Threeshold work, but for the high schoolers and college guys he coached in the 800-5k does he do a sharpening block near goal races

Generally he has talked about increasing intensity weeks 3,4, and 5 out from the goal race, whether that's more CV/Thresh or Miles for a Marathon or more 3k pace work for 15-5k, or whatever. The idea is to stress the body, adapt, and just maintain/cruise to the peak race.
I’ve done Tinman type training for a few years and I’m now going on 58 years old. With absolutely zero actual speed sharpening or track workouts, I can still break 19 min just on strength running with the CV/threshold running.
With some dedicated track workouts for six weeks I can get mid 18. But I run about 50 mpw on 5-6 days running. Most younger adults will probably run more.
The Tinman style training does seem to keep me relatively fit and I don’t get injured, which is key at 55+ old. If you’re younger, I think more speed workouts will pay off.
