Tuohy is stronger, and has been developing steadily. I will never go against Tuohy again, on top of her talent, she is smart, and has tenacity. She's always on a mission.

But Tuohy has lost more championship race in the NCAA than she has won so the smart money is going against her.
Couldn't agree more. Very strange behaviour regarding the women's race. It's even being talked about more than the men's.

Nope,
Nike won’t give Valby an NIL deal because they want her to leave college and join a Nike pro training group. BTC or UAC. Giving her NIL keeps her in college. They gain nothing from her being in college.
Valby will turn pro with Nike after outdoor season regardless of who wins nationals.
I'm not making this post as a negative to PV....just trying to get a better understanding of 'pro' signings. Tuohy signs a NIL...makes tremendous sense...she has HS and NCAA Championships, massive following, SI covers, etc etc. Easily one of the most recognizable female track/XC runners.
PV has had one good outdoor season, and one good XC season. And if not for some hype coming into the NCAA XC Nat's, virtually unknown. Would a pro team really be excited about signing her at this point? I say this simply because there is very little history to show that she will 1) keep improving 2) be able to handle much higher levels of training for the pro-level.
I like PV and hope she continues to improve. Would love to see her turn pro at some point. But as a Pro team, are you willing to offer any level of $$ to PV without seeing more (in terms of increased training and results over a longer term)?
Pretty much every guy on the NAU team is there because they are very fast and they couldn't get into any good school. Stanford guys are all smart. Notre Dame guys are all smart. Harvard guys are all smart.
