I'll start. I lived in a city that's top 5 in the country for violent crime. Any time I'd turn on the local news I'd see "man shot, fire, man shot, feel-good story, failing schools, man killed, fire...". It's also notoriously corrupt and the government is non-functional.
Then, I moved to a suburban area that's normal. I wouldn't hear about shootings every night on the news, and I also didn't fear walking at night or being mugged. We also don't have stories about schools where not 1 person can read.
Does anyone else have a similar story? My wife agrees with me that it's the right choice, but I have a couple of friends who seem to have Stockholm syndrome about the city.
