I thought she had a shot at top 10, top 15. I thought Mccabe, Chelangat and Roe would place higher than her, but none of them did. Stearns has had an amazing breakout season.
Cook could beat her at BU, but I seriously doubt any prediction they are 17 seconds apart over a 5k race, unless Stearns XC fitness just absolutely does not translate to the track and she bombs.
I thought Chmiel had a very serious shot at 3rd behind Valby & Tuohy, and she crushed it.
Don't you see that things are not as predictable as you think? The xc results are not what you predicted so taking them and claiming that they will all run protiornate to them a week later is silly.
So you have a preconceived notion of what you want to happen, And then you desperately try to cherry pick any evidence to help your preconceived notion!
Wow novel idea, That's never been proven to be a bad strategy!
Outside of injury sickness or fall we know exactly what kind of shape these runners are in! They were all more motivated to do well at cross country!

Sure, some things can be unpredictable, especially if people have an off day. Which Taylor Roe did at nats, she said so. Cook didn't.
You might predict that Stearns blows up at BU and finish behind Cook by a huge margin, but I am not going to. Like I said, Cook could beat her. But I doubt its 17 seconds. What is so crazy about that?
Rodenfels ... has really improved over last year, now in the mix to win and break 15:00.
I have been reading up on her and she really has had a great last year. I agree, seems like she is going to try and break 15. She also has a good kick.
GG was happy it wasn't 8k. Remember she was one of the OSU 800 runner's trying to be the missing 5th man. Of note Lauren Ping, joining Grace at OSU, so that's 2 more possibles for that 5th spot.
Markezich and Mccabe both closed their final 200m in 30 seconds, which is pretty fast. They dusted the field. I don't remember anyone closing a 1500m and up distance race that fast last year. Except maybe Degenero or Vissa at 1500m at NCAAs.

Great move at the bell by Markezich. Looked like she caught McCabe unawares slightly and forced her to scramble in the end. Very controlled running for the most part and neither runner seemed spent--I think either could’ve gone sub-8:50 had the day called for it. Let’s hope both steeplers stay healthy through the winter and keep rolling.

Re-watching the race, Mccabe's turnover in the last 25 meters is crazy fast. I wonder what her 100m time is.
Lots of fast times in Boston as usual. Top NCAA lists were re-written in both the Women's and Men's fast heats. Air Force HighlightsSam Gilman 13:25.64 (NCAA...
