I think if you were smarter you might recognize that Parker may have run the smartest race of anyone there. We cannot know. It is easy to see this tangent issue. But what you cannot see is what is going through her mind and how she is marshaling her resources in a manner which is most efficacious. You clowns are nitpicking about something you can see. What you cannot see is often where the race is won or lost. Can you not grasp this rudimentary concept?
I can tell you what wasn't going through her mind... sorry, had to. On a real note, I now get more where you're coming from. I do think her 800m mistake hurts your argument a bit in terms of "marshaling her resources", but she's definitely demonstrated a high level of mental toughness and aggressiveness.
It's not that hard. Go from Point A to Point B as fast as possible. I've seen 8 year olds running youth cross country run tangents better than she did.
Same reason why Ferrari drivers take terrible lines....their engine makes up fornit. Valby can run zig zag the whole course and still finish in front of most of these runners
Look, I'm not here to bash Valby at all, but 33 on the ACT hardly means you're brilliant. I got a 32 on the ACT and can barely do any math. I failed my geometry honors final! I barely passed physics! The ACT measures reading comprehension, quickness, and general test taking strategy/confidence, which have little to do with raw math or science skills.
You remember that, really? How about footage or a picture of the moment?
It is bitter, brain-damaged, sight-impaired mr. carmine9, who swears he saw Zelensky give a Nazi salute while shopping in a grocery store.
with all the billions in $ he has pocketed from the US taxpayer, why would Zelensky be in a grocery store? Now if they said he was spotted doing his hourly line of cocaine, I think none of us would be shocked.
Ms Valby is brilliant because she's eager to learn. But from the posts I get the impression she's performing independently. Her tangent racing should have been discovered and resolved by her coach long before a championship race. It's good to see she has a sense of humor about the criticism and made a post about it. Shows she has class and trying to resolve her issue. But during the race I never saw any of her teammates after the start. The season is long enough where her teammates should have been coached to rally around her and support her best they could for finals even if they were only being used as rabbits. If you're not the best, then support your teammate to be their best. Know your roles.. Coaching helps you perform at your best. It doesn't matter how much you know everyone (even a coach) would benefit from coaching. Ryan Hall was at best when he had a coach and now he's coaching his wife Sara. Sara has been performing excellent during the marathon but part of that is buying into coaching. I have not witnessed Valby's teammates supporting her during the race, and coach has to be aware that lher tangent problem should have been discovered and resolved early in her training before a championship race. She has greater potential and would benefit from good coaching and team support. I really hope some improvements in coaching takes place for her and the team.. Ms Valby is brilliant for being eager to learn how to improve her racing efforts and strategies. She's brilliant for being able to perform so well independently.

I agree 100% on your take on Parker's response....on her teammates - they did not qualify to run...did the school fly any to to Stillwater? They could have ensured they had someone at every key point on the course to support her. Just a thought. While Tuohy ran the tangents better, I don't think that was the difference maker in the race.
