Many people with the money to do so will have already left the USA for safer countries. Or they'll just order groceries online and never have to leave their house.
those people needed to die so that I can own a firearm that I will likely never use for anything other than sport and is more likely to harm my family than protect them.
Just did a quick check. Us homicide rate in 2021 is ~7 in 100K people. If homicides by blacks are removed (~56% of the total), we are left with a rate of 3-4 homicides out of 100K people. Still three times larger than the UK or Europe.
P.S. Note that also in other countries most of the crimes are usually committed by a small fraction of the population. if we were to do the same for the homicide rates of other countries (removing, for instance the poorest or least educated people or certain geographic areas), their rate would also decrease greatly and the difference with the US would be even larger.
It doesn't take much for race to be raised here. We know white people aren't violent. Except for the Germans who murdered millions in E Europe during WW2, and the Russians who murdered millions of their own during Stalin's reign of terror. But there are those with their ugly little prejudices who would have us believe that violence is an issue of race. Read - black people. All races commit violence.
It is a more than weekly occurrence, that Americans kill other Americans in a mass shooting. But that will never change with the kind of thinking we see here, which does not acknowledge there is a crisis and that it is crisis with a solution. That refusal to see reality for what it is is where the real sickness lies.
You like to use stats regarding guns in one country as opposed to another. But you won't post stats about race and guns in the US. Facts are facts. How about those murders in Nazi Getmany? What percentage were committed using guns? Nazis used gas warfare and gassed their prisoners. Should we outlaw chlorine?
That’s for mass shootings people care about (I.e. not gang-related violence in Chicago at 1AM). For all mass shootings, blacks are significantly overrepresented.
The US has a much higher poverty rate than European countries.
From your link, the percentage of children growing up with a single parent in the US is 23%, UK is 21% and France is 16%. The poverty rate is 17.80% in the US, 18.10% in the UK and 13.60% in France. These are rather similar numbers and cannot explain a 5-6 times larger murder rate in the US.

this is the way of the lord.
Drugs kill about ten times as many in the U.S. as firearms (not to mention the drug-driven homicides). Do you anti-gun advocates support stricter drug regulation/illegality as well?

Please tell us where you found that statistic. It is completely false. Drug OD and gun deaths are relatively equivalent and, NEWSFLASH, most of the worst drugs ARE illegal and all of the legal ones are highly regulated. Everyone recognizes we have a drug crisis in this country, but the same is not true for guns because gun humpers are guided by fear and insecurity rather than reason.
In states with demographics similar to Europe the murder rate is similar to Europe.
There are only one two states in the US with a murder rate comparable to European countries (~0.5-1.3) : New Hampshire (1.1) and Maine (1.6). All other states have murder rates 2 to 20 time higher. These are homicide rates for the most "lily white" states. For comparison, the white population in the UK is 87% and in France it is 81% (homicide rate is ~1.2 in both): Vermont (92.35% white) 2.2 West Virginia (91.55% white) 7 Montana (85.6% white) 6.6 Iowa (85% white) 3.6 Kentucky (84% white) 9.5

"Truth" is nothing you have anything to do with:
Provisional data from CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics indicate that there were an estimated 100,306 drug overdose deaths in the United States during 12-month period ending in April 2021
Focusing on one issue while ignoring a greater one is a great contributor to what is known as "stupidity". It is rampant among political ideologues such as yourself.
