Will this keep the likes of Athing Mu and Donovan Brazier at a university for four years? Combine NIL and the resources of the university and a scholarship?
Maybe Texas a&m can build a team if they can keep the talent they recruit.

No
The ones I make get deleted. Even when it's about a Nebraska Pole Vaulter with no links.
Probably not your Mu or Brazier level, but hopefully NIL keeps your next Drew Hunter from going pro early and just filling out pro fields.
Most of the real talent generally burns 0 years of NCAA elegibility. Look at global medalists. You'll find some alumni participating in sprints. A few in mid-D. They become sparse in distance events.
Of course, someone will post a list of those who did both - ran in NCAA and reach the highest level of the sport. If you must do so, it would be a formality to list those who did the second but not the first. My list (if I go through the hassle of making it, which isn't really necessary since it includes all medalists, record holders, etc. NOT on your list) will vastly outnumber yours.
The NIL thing hasn't yet and will have no effect on the sport from a fan perspective.
Heck no. Hunter is making a fortune. NIL wouldn't have done that. How much is Sahlman making? Likely nothing.

Yeah, hopefully NIL keeps companies from making such poor decisions in the future.
So what NCAA athlete male or female is doing the best with the NIL?
That hot gymnast from LSU
If an athlete is a major medal contender (McLaughlin, Mu, Norman, etc.) on the world stage, why will he or she run a gazillion of races for their schools? They should be going to DLs for experience and exposure, and not dominating college kids.
You mean Olivia Dunne? Never heard of her. 💕

Most of the distance runners who have won global medals are from Africa, which is a different thing than the NCAA.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?

How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
