Dowling indoor 1600 times so far
City:
That Dowling list is incomplete.
I would recommend using this site instead:
Also worth noting that the two fastest 1600 times so far this year are 4:00.99 by Jackson Heidesch (Dowling) and 4:11.92 by Ford Washburn (City High) en route to miles at NBIN, but those won’t count toward Drake Relays qualifying (which obviously won’t be a problem for those two when they choose to go get a Q).
Not a team prediction but weather permitting at Drake I think we see Jackson as the first IA HS sub 4 miler. The elite field will be huge to pull him along rather than a solo effort.
Yes they counted toward entry into the mile. They are listed with 5 others so far.

Oh is he racing against pros and top collegians and not the high school 1600? That would be cool. The weather is often crappy at Drake, but if he doesn’t do it then I think he can get it in June, given his recent trajectory.
To the other poster, good to know.
Hopefully the best from the region show up for this.
That was my understanding of how it worked as more of regional elite milers instead of the standard 1600 run every year. Sounds like a 1 off but very cool idea.
I’m also very interested so see the kind of times Paityn Noe will run. I assume she already holds several records but if not I can see multiple going down
Sort of. The mile is high school only. Iowa doesn't allow high school to compete against college or pros in season. They don't permit runners to travel either which is why Heidesch and Noe can't run at Arcadia.

She holds none. Iowa natives include Schweizer, Houlihan, Flood, Decker, Jenks, Erzen, Ciluffon and others.

Interesting thanks!
The top 3 all time for 3k are:
1. Stephanie Jenks 9:24.67
2. Katie Flood 9:27.25
3. Mackenzie Yanek 9:35.48
Noe split 9:33.88 at NBIN and her 10:15.97 2 mile converts to a little quicker, so she should go very high on the all-time list this season.
SCN results
Valley High will be a team to watch next year in XC.
They return:
Bergman - 11 - 9:25i / 15:53
McClinton - 11 - 15:47
Forney - 11 - 16:11
Owen - 10 - 16:21
Cavan - 11 - 10:11 3200
Johnston Early Bird
Hoping to get more information about the Drake mile. A list was put out pertaining to boys entered but nothing on girls.
