love it when these kids come out of nowhere. she beat a murderers row of Colorado and Utah talent to win this one including multiple state champions. from what I understand she was age group world class for mountain biking as well. get this kid into the triathlon.
Sam Osborne and Samantha Kingsford, a couple from New Zealand, won the XTERRA USA Championship elite titles with winning times of 2:17:33 and 2:46:47, respectively, on a gorgeous fall day Saturday at Snowbasin Resort in the W...
Not that surprising. A more complete athlete than most runners with highly developed aerobic fitness. Many top runners are former soccer players, skiiers, cyclists, basketball players, etc.
Thanks for posting. I had no idea this was her background.
They have such a strong program a Lone Peak, I just figured they had developed her for years in their program.
I hadn't heard of her until she completely dominated the Utah 6A meet, but didn't realize until now she had just won the Utah Club Mountain biking championship a few days before state. So she dominated state XC on tired legs.
She's got a bright future in running if she keeps at it.
Yeah she could possibly win nationals next year if she focuses on running next fall
on the guys side, so many of the top juniors in the nation are new to focusing on the sport. Like the Bozeman guy that made it to NXN individually after switching from soccer, and Adam Burlinson who used to play football last year before transferring to Grapevine and focusing on running
this is gonna make next year’s senior class be better people think it will be
She definitely has a chance this year. That was a dominant win yesterday over some of the nation's best athletes. Allori and Wilson are outstanding athletes and this race wasn't even close.

Next year? She’s got a legit chance to win it this year.
Yeah probably. But I think someone who has a better chance to win it this year is a senior with more racing experience though
Like Baloga, Riggs, or Nechanicky
Seniors have more sense of urgency because they know that there is no next year
Especially in America for some reason people try to specialize kids too young. If you have a kid you should encourage them to play multiple sports throughout the year. Especially if you want to maximize a kids aerobic development in middle through high school, but don't want to risk injuring or burnout via high mileage, get them competing in cycling, swimming, and XC skiing too throughout the year.
