I'm watching this latest press conference by the Idaho cops where they are trying to explain away their incompetence. They have said nothing about any racial motivations. In fact, they aren't saying anything that hasn't been reported days ago.
Just a summary of what is known so far. Feel free to add to correct any information.
Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle were at a party at Sigma Chi fraternity between 8:00 and 9:00 pm, about 200 yards away.
Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves were at the Corner Club (202 North Main Street, about one mile away), between 10:00 pm and 1:30 am. They then went to a food truck at 318 South Main Street at around 1:40 am. They received a ride home by an unidentified person, but it was not a service like Uber. All four victims arrived home around 1:45 am.
The surviving roommates had been out in town separately but returned to the house around 1:00 am. They were asleep at the time of the killings and did not hear anything. Neither are considered suspects.
Killings occurred between the hours of 3:00 am and 4:00 am. All are suspected of being asleep when the attack occurred. All were stabbed multiple times. Some victims have defensive wounds on them.
The 911 call was made at 11:58 am the next day from inside the house. The call was made on a surviving roommate’s phone, but the caller has not been identified and the audio or transcript of the call have not been released.
The call was made for an unconscious person, not a stabbing victim. The 911 operator talked to multiple people during the call.
Other friends were in the house when police arrived. Either they were called by roommates or just showed up to visit on their own.
The house has three floors with two bedrooms on each floor. There is an entrance door on the first floor that requires a code and a sliding glass door that enters on the second flood.
The victims were on the second and third floors; the survivors were on the first floor.
The house is known as a party house with many people going in and out several nights per week.
There was no evidence of forced entry.
No murder weapon has been found.
It is believed to be a military style fixed blade knife with a blade of about 6 inches. The same weapon is suspected of being used for all four killings.
Victims were not bound or gagged.
There is no evidence of sexual assault.
Police do not believe the surviving roommates, the male seen at the food truck, the driver who brought the two victims home, any of the people they talked to on the 911 call, or the person they called repeatedly that night (Jake?, old boyfriend) are involved.
Police have described it as a targeted killing.
Reports of one of the victims having a stalker have not been corroborated but they are still looking into it.
Police originally said there was no threat to the community but have since rescinded this statement.
Nothing appears to have been stolen from the house and nothing of significance was found in any of several nearby dumpsters that were searched.
Seems like they are interested in the area south of the crime scene. They are looking for any photos, video, etc., from the area shown. Crime scene house is at top center.
There is a house on Walenta drive to the west which looks like it could potentially have a decent view of the property. On Google maps there are a couple Idaho Fish & Wildlife vehicles parked outside this house. If these kids were bled out and murdered with a hunting knife, I'd be looking there.

Good call, detective. I believe you just cracked the case. Definitely the police should harass everybody nearby based on Google maps photos and the presumption that a knife may have been used and that some people may have knives.

A knife was used. That's one of the few things we know for sure. Police said they are actively looking for the knife in the neighborhood.
The victims were on the second and third floors; the survivors were on the first floor.
I find this strange. Killer(s) either had to go past the first floor to get to the victims or were already in the house prior to all getting home and, in either case, had to go out of the home past the survivors.

I found these online. Diagrams of the second and third floors. The sliding glass door enters into the kitchen at bottom left.

Investigating nearby suspects is not harassment.
Police use Google maps often.
You have not offered anything.
Great work, detective. They didn't find a knife, but presume a knife to be the murder weapon due to injuries consistent with an edged weapon and you interpret that as being sure it was a knife. Gotcha. Now they're actively looking for a knife in a neighborhood of possibly tens of thousands of knives. Hide your knives. Every knife is now a suspect.
Being on Google Maps does not make you a "nearby suspect."

The wording that’s been used for the timeline of Ethan and Xana is peculiar. It gives the impression that they were at that party for 1 hour, but nothing else is mentioned for their whereabouts between 9:00 pm and 1:45 am. I know that some will say that they arrived at the party between 8:00-9:00 pm and stayed there all the way up to 1:45 am, but in my opinion that’s not the most obvious interpretation of the wording that these timelines have used.

The police haven’t revealed what the two did in between. There’s unconfirmed chatter online about how they went to a different sorority party of Ethan’s sister.

You folks are dangerously dumb.
The police have stated for a fact that the murder weapon was a knife. If you think they are wrong, consider calling them and telling them that they are wrong.
The police are searching for the knife in the neighborhood. If you think that is dumb, and have better ideas, call the Moscow police and inform them.
Everyone in the neighborhood is a suspect and/or a potential witness. Interviewing and investigating suspects and potential witnesses is not harassment as you claimed. It isn't dumb either.
Google maps is an important resource and tool used by police. Again, if you think that is dumb, tell the police that.

I think your spot on with 2nd floor entry. Front door had a key pad which could also mean it auto locked even if the students were bad about locking up on their own. Much more likely the sliding door was unlocked, and of course explains why first floor was spared. Also would mean back door entry from the woods, likely no security camera footage, and why they are exploring the woods. Killer could have parked on a quiet road and walked through the woods to get there. Not many cars driving around at 3am on quiet roads. Just need to target some security cams in the area.

This was basically already confirmed like 5 days ago... Entered on the second floor either through the sliding glass or a window. May have gone downstairs and may not have. Seems to have murdered each victim in their rooms and then locked the doors behind him, which is why the initial 911 call was for an unresponsive person. The doors to the rooms were locked.

Didn't know the locked rooms detail. That definitely explains the 911 unresponsive call, and that fact that it wasn't made until noon.
