Good day lads!
Wanted to get on here to see what people had to say about running in the Hoka Clifton vs. the Hoka Mach.
Would love to hear pros/cons on why you would recommend running in the Clifton or the Mach.
Thanks!

Neither of those are carbon plated so I'd go with none of the above. Hoka's carbon plated shoe also sucks, I'd go with Saucony Endorphin Pro or Nike Next%
Okay, well if I had to go with one or the other....which one would you choose? Marathon is in 4 days so not sure I have the time to get a new carbon plated shoe and break that in
If you are racing, Mach (lighter, snappier, less forgiving)
If you are running, Clifton (more cushioned, cruiser ride, more a "time on your feet" option)
That answer is not to judge how fast you are for which shoe. Just if you have trained to "race" (whatever pace that is for you) or if you are running to complete, have fun.
Clifton is a slow shoe. But well cushioned.
I'd go Mach 4. Have used it for intervals, tempo and long runs. If there were no carbon plated shoes it would be in my top selection for a race day shoe.
Thanks! I think I am leaning towards the Clifton for the following reasons:
1. can still push for a faster pace
2. the cushion will provide more forgiveness thus allowing me to still push myself at the later miles.
Running in Mach - I worry my knees will start hurting in the later miles and then my pace will go into the gutter. However, I do love the Mach....
Clifton:
Distance: 23.41 miles
Avg. Pace: 9:26 (min/mi)
Mach:
Distance: 20.07 miles
Avg. Pace: 9:32 (min/mi)
Love how I can go into a rabbit hole on a pair of shoes...
You have your answer. Don't overthink it. Go with comfort and protection.
Not everyone wants to wear cheater shoes.
I hope very few people want to wear shoes that violate the race’s rules.
Based on your tone and what it implies, kudos for running barefoot. Frankly I think that’s kind of awesome. I remember kicking a field goal in practice once barefoot. Felt like a real man that day.

Buy both of them and shove em up your butt.
