I've been attempting to start running with some 20$ walmart shoes and these are crap.
What are some good shoes I can get to.run in I've read several ones like brooks ghost 14 etc but idk if I need such an advanced shoe just starting out. I'm having shin pain with the shoes I've got.
Just got a pair of skechers from famous footwear I was told they were running shoes and they turned out to be for walking. Ran In them and felt good but I think certain shoes Re made for a reason.
Any running shoe brand will likely have some running shoes that would work fine for you. A well known example is Nike. Go to a running shoe store and try various brands.
I’m really enjoying the Brooks Hyperion Tempo, I ran all my current PB’s in those, from 5K to half marathon. Recently bought the Saucony Endorphin Speed and they are becoming a firm favourite. I think they’re great allrounders.
Saucony, New Balance, Brooks, Atreyu, Adidas, Hoka, and Nike all make a decent running shoe for beginners. You can often buy last year's model at steep discounts when they're being closed out. Shoe fit is important and it varies from one person to another because feet are unique.
Your best bet would be to go to your local running store and find someone who actually knows something about shoes. They'll have you run on a treadmill and watch you or let you run in the shoes on the sidewalk outside the store.
There's no need to buy a supershoe. Your goal is comfort and injury avoidance at this stage of your running career.
Shoes I've had firsthand experience with that I would call at least adequate if they fit are NB Beacon, Hoka Clifton, Atreyu Base, Nike Pegasus, but each of these brands make models that might be a better fit for you.
