I guess one thing is clear: the rojos/wejos continue to talk, and Rupp continues to run. One side just yaps and talks cheap, while the other side has the courage to lace up his shoes and stand on the starting line and run a race.
aint nothin new. Lots of implied criticism outmatched by lots of real results.
Do you have a point? I have not heard the Rojos or anyone else here say they are a better runner than Galen. Galen is very close to being finished. He knows it. It is not a criticism.
Galen is starting to look like he is nearing 40. I understand he is 36. Galen is really at a point where he is no longer going to be the top US marathoner. He is going to be fortunate to break 2:10 even in the super shoes.
He is aging from the stress of never eloping with his one true love Jordan Hasay.
Honestly lost a lot of respect for J. Gault - what a piece of garbage. Two fing questions about Alberto - just looking for clickbait. Galen is a champion, you are a schmuck - just another example of brutal journalism by LetsRun.
If he is not in shape he should register as non binary and destroy the non binary WR. His time shouldn't have the number 0 or 1 so if he runs an easy 2:22:22, it is literally the limit of non binary performance. He should be well ahead of second place.
One curiosity a journalist could have followed up on, was whether it truly is a disc hernia toon or instead, a disc bulge. The terms are sometimes, unfortunately, used interchangeably, but they are definitely not the same thing.
Both most definitely can present nerve issues. Surgery for herniation is much more common than for a bulge.
My heavens dude. You got Rupp in front of you. A thousand awesome questions to ask that us runners would be truly interested in. You drop Salazar comments? Take away this clowns media rights.
Reverse psychology play...he's actually in best shape of his life. Prepare for a 2:07 flat win.
This could be an old AlSal tactic - I like it.
Although when Alberto first came to NYC as a college kid from Oregon he said, "I'm gonna run sub-2:10 and win the race," and he did just that. What a fuc*in LEGEND.

As much as I commend the BroJos for promoting the sport and enabling access for all of us on a daily basis, I have to agree. While I do not personally think Rupp was beyond using “Salazar’s gimmicks,” as Kara put it, that question at the end about Salazar’s suspension was utterly ridiculous and, frankly, irrelevant. I understand the push for clean sport, and I like that these guys would want to hold everyone accountable, but this was not the proper forum for that question and just came off as grating and divisive. Very awkward.
So intersting to see that Galen is suffereing from that disc issue: I have just had the surgery for a herniated disc that was impacting my S1 nerve over the last 7 years now. That herniation has made it so that I have essentially had to give up runnning if I didn't continue to either get cortizone shots or get the surgery. 7 years of "running" with a leg that "didn't always work right" led me to change my form and now I'm doing a ton of PT, plus the surgery, to try and run, period.
Let me be really clear: without the surgery I'm done as a runner, almost essentially done a jogger, but certainly done as a competitive runner period.
That Rupp had to suffer with this and try to do a marathon build up? Ouch. Tried to be competitive as a master in the half marathon with this and it wacked my body out. To try to train through this at the hightest level? No. No way.
if Rupp has a good showing at NY, i'm very curious to see if the LR staff can find any positive words to say about him.
as a fan of distance running, and an american, i've certainly struggled to figure out what all the grey area is about. but objectively speaking, we've seen a lot of red flags across the professional running scene, and until Rupp is banned, i'll be rooting for him.
it seems a bit like bias, and that is the worst kind of journalism.
